Below you will find an email that I sent to our list this morning encouraging everyone to pitch in and help local homeless shelters.  There have been press reports around the state of shelters receiving very high numbers of people needing assistance.  Thanks for helping out.  Dan

Friends-

It's freezing. Homeless shelters are at capacity. They need our help.



Far too many of our neighbors are without a roof over their heads, which on its own is a moral crisis in a state as wealthy as ours.   In fact, my own family spent Christmas Day at a shelter in Tampa, visiting people whom for whom life has dealt a tough hand. 



But right now, Florida's shelters are really strapped.  Stories from all over the state are of shelters in need of food, and specifically, blankets and jackets to help those seeking help from the freezing weather.



Together, we can help.



Our email list now is in the tens of thousands and this is our chance to collectively really make a difference.

If you have the ability to help, please take a moment to contact your local homeless shelter to see what they need.  Not every shelter has the same needs, though they all need our help, especially now.
